KEYA MORGAN COLLECTION
Lincoln

LincolnImages.com
is devoted to preserving the photographs and memory of President Abraham Lincoln.

Mr. Keya Morgan is a widely respected scholar of Lincoln photography and owner of the world’s largest collection of original Abraham Lincoln and General Grant photographs. The Keya Morgan Lincoln collection was featured in TIME magazine July 4, 2005 issue (with Lincoln on the Cover).

Items from the Keya Morgan Collection have been placed in the permanent collections of the White House, the Library of Congress, and The Smithsonian Institute, as well as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and the Louvre Museum in Paris. The collection has been featured in hundreds of magazines, newspapers, books and documentaries.

The photographs illustrated on this website are exceptionally sharp and of the highest quality because they are scanned from the original first generation 140 year-old, from-life albumen photographs from the Keya Morgan collection.

In the 1990's, Keya Morgan bought the Herbert Wells Fay collection and, in 2004, bought the majority of the Lloyd Ostendorf collection. From the 1930s till 2000, Ostandorf was the leading authority on the subject of Lincoln photography, and for many years served as mentor to Keya Morgan, effectively passing the torch to him to maintain an unbroken chain of Lincoln scholarship from the 1930s into the 21st century. Keya Morgan is currently writing a book about every known photograph of President Lincoln and his family.
